Varhad Investment Managers are setting up INR5bn fund for Dalit and Adivasi businesses. It has been approved by Indian capital market regulator, SEBI. It is a scheme of trust in association with Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI). The name of the fund is DICCI SME Fund.
We have set up this fund to help entrepreneurs from weaker sections of society to come in mainstream business with the support of government schemes and private sector's affirmative action. We plan to create icons of Indian business from these neglected society. It will be great bridge between the neglected section of society for 2000 years and the main business community. Generating sustainable income to 1m poor people through direct and indirect employment is the focus of our all Impact Investments.
