SEED SPOT's mission is to educate, accelerate, and invest in entrepreneurs who are creating solutions to social problems. SEED SPOT's incubator consists of a 14 week full-time program, a 12 week evening program, and a 5 day bootcamp. SEED SPOT's high school social entrepreneur program, NEXT, provides the curriculum, training, resources, and support for schools to teach entrepreneurship so students can change the world. In 2016, Gust and Fundacity awarded SEED SPOT as one of the top 20 Active Accelerator in the World. In 2015, UBI Global and Cisco named SEED SPOT one of the top 3 Social Impact Incubators in the Country. SEED SPOT has supported over 288 ventures since 2012, which have impacted over 1.4 million lives around the world and our supported ventures have raised over $8.4m in capital.
SEED SPOT will be using a set of metrics to track the impact of our incubator programs. We train and support our entrepreneurs to identify and measure their impact. Part of our curriculum includes a propriety Impact Canvas. We provide our Alumni with a support plan to measure their impact that includes a recommended list of IRIS metrics. We also collect cross-portfolio metrics to continually track our Alumni.
Other Impact Measurement Tools
SEED SPOT helped pass benefit corporation legislation in Arizona. All of our entrepreneurs are given an overview of the tools available to measure their impact; B Lab's Impact Assessment, GIIRS, Progress Out of Poverty Index, and TONIIC's E-Guide. SEED SPOT is part of Emory University's Goizueta Business School and ANDE's Global Accelerator Learning Initiative (GALI) in which we collect longitudinal data to understand our incubator's effectiveness.
