Usage Guidance

  • This metric is intended to capture the potential energy that could be generated by the product during its lifetime. It is most applicable for products that will be operated or used by a client of the organization as opposed to the organization itself. Organizations with oversight of product use beyond the initial sale should consider using Energy Generated for Sale: Total (PI8706).
  • Organizations interested in reporting on the total energy capacity of all products sold during the reporting period should report against Energy Capacity of Products Sold (PD1504).
